Nathan Ota “Pop! Goes the Weasel”

Free Poster Giveaway! Morphik Wearable Art Contest!

For Nathan Ota, what started out as a chance reunion with childhood friend and now legendary street artist, RISK, became two years of an intensely productive collaboration. It was a fun diversion, a return to youthful days of graffiti and spray paint; a chance to revisit what once was. But something happened along the way and it led the artist to an unexpected place. For Ota, even as the characters that have populated his work remain–the birds, the tree man, the eggs–the world that surrounds them has begun to shift. It’s a more stark, more stripped-down, more immediate world, signaling the beginning of a new period artistically.
Pop! Goes the Weasel is a return to Nathan’s past to begin his future.

Bob Dob “The Mouseketeer Army”

On August 6th, 1970 the war began when the radical Youth International Party, aka Yippies, invaded Disneyland as a way to rebel and protest against the establishment. They were successful in taking over Tom Sawyer’s Island for a “smoke-in,” taunted guests with their chants of anarchy, and attempted to raise their flag at city hall. Mickey Mouse and friends were under attack. But from this event arose The Mouseketeer Army. They battled back to defeat the oppressive ideologies of the Yippies who’s only objective was for Disneyland to cease to exist. The Mouseketeer Army is the last hope to preserve the Magic Kingdom.
