Holiday Hall of Fame Re-Sale Event

Holiday Hall of Fame re-sale event 2016

Billy’s Personal Collection

The pop-surrealism explosion started right here at La Luz de Jesus Gallery back in 1986 when Billy Shire decided to exhibit the work of local artists alongside the ethnic folk art he’d already been selling at his flagship Soap Plant store on Melrose. While we are routinely offered previously owned pieces from prominent collectors and estates, nothing can compare to the provenance of owning a painting culled from Billy’s personal collection.

Seminal, published, museum-exhibited works from Clive Barker, Gary Baseman, Charles Binger, the Clayton Brothers, Joe Coleman, Coop, Helen Garber, Frank Kozik, Isabel Samaras, Esther Pearl Watson, XNO and highly sought works from new contemporary masters like Glenn Barr, Camille Rose Garcia and Christine Wu.

I know that I am often approached and asked about locating available works from these artists, but the scarcity and progressively increasing values on the work have prevented many collectors from being able to further enrich their collections–until now.

This is more than just a re-sale event. This is a full exhibition that will be on ours walls for the month of December, allowing you to see a revolving collection of pop surrealist masterpieces while you do your holiday shopping.

As pieces are purchased they will be removed and replaced with fresh offerings, so be sure to add this page to your RSS feed or check back often, as we’ve got a few incredible surprises still coming.
