Dan Barry-The flowers must all fade and the fruits must decay

Exhibition: October 4th-27th, 2019
Reception: Fri. October 4th 8-11pm

“For as long as I can remember I have been an explorer, a collector, an image-maker and a storyteller with a self-revelatory urge. My artworks have always been a reflection and ambiguous journal of what is happening in my life, mind, and surroundings at any given time.”  – Dan Barry

La Luz de Jesus Gallery is pleased to present The flowers must all fade and the fruits must decay, a solo exhibition by Dan Barry on view from October 4 – 27, 2019.

Dan Barry grew up on a rural farm in Wisconsin. At a young age he began creating artworks from collected images and found objects, and incorporated painting, drawing and wood carving into his compositions. Since then, he has continued to hone his process by diving deep into his psyche to profess empathy as the universal language behind his work. Even with materials, Barry has the sharpened ability to accommodate this common thread through repetition of cross-hatching, needlepoint, and phrases to evoke a sense of nostalgia, wonderment, and hope.

Dan Barry currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
