La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California, will be showcasing figurative, narrative and unusual works made of prefabricated materials also known as collage. Collage is different from assemblage in the sense that assemblage is made of 3-dimensional prefabricated objects while collage is 2-dimensional. We will only be accepting collages done by hand using physical medium. Including but not limited to; fabrics, photomontage, decollage, découpage, etc. Digital collages and mosaics will not be accepted.

Please read the guidelines carefully. The Exhibition will take place from November 8th, 2024 through November 30th, 2024. Artists need to be 18+ years of age to participate.

The deadline to submit work is September 15th, 2024,

Artists will be notified by Wednesday, September 25th of acceptance to the email provided in the form below.

DO NOT EMAIL IMAGES, PLEASE. ONLY SUBMISSIONS THROUGH THE PORTAL WILL BE REVIEWED.

Guidelines

Spec restriction: Wall hanging artwork may not exceed 40″ in any direction. Artwork should not be more than 40lbs

Shipping: Artists outside of Los Angeles are responsible for the cost of shipping their work to and from the gallery, including all taxes and duties for international artists.

Do not submit work that is for sale elsewhere.

All artwork must arrive “ready to hang”.

If work hangs off the wall and arrives without hanging hardware, it will be returned and not exhibited.

Accepted Artwork: If artwork is accepted, adjustments are not possible.

Acceptance: Artists will be notified by Wednesday, September 25th of acceptance to the email provided in the form below. Add laluzsubmissions@gmail.com to your contacts so that our emails don’t lead to spam.

Right of Sale: La Luz de Jesus Gallery will have the exclusive right of sale for exhibited artwork for 30 days after the exhibition’s close.

Payment: The artist and La Luz de Jesus Gallery split is a standard 50/50 split. If artwork sells, the artist will receive a payment within 30 days after the sale or close of the exhibition.

It is the responsibility of the artist to deliver and retrieve their artwork. ARTWORK NOT RETRIEVED BY 2026 WILL BE CONSIDERED FORFEITED BY THE ARTIST.

Filling out the 2024 Open Call Submission Form

  1. Submit three different works for consideration.
  2. Please follow the prompts and correctly fill out each box indicated on the Google Form.
  3. Upload (up to three) low-resolution (72 PPI, 750 pixels wide), jpegs or pngs to the Google Form.
  4. File names for jpegs or pngs MUST be saved in this format: Artist Last Name_Title-of-Artwork.jpg
